Summer Programs California Alliance for Minority Participation The objective of the California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) is to increase the quality and quantity of minority students receiving baccalaureate degrees in science, engineering and mathematics (SEM) at the University of California (UC). Summer Bridge Summer Bridge provides incoming freshmen with a "jump-start" into their first-year math and science classes. The program is a five-week, in-residence, intensive academic bridge experience, commonly referred to as an "academic boot camp" that places participating freshmen at an advantage to other freshmen due to the academic and social familiarity gained through the Bridge program experience.
